Yes Brian, I too think he wrote the best Cyborg story ever. It had a lot of emotinal resonance and even though his "twist-ending" has been recycled over and over (maybe it wasn't originally his to start with) ...I've never seen it used as effectively as with Cyborg. I guess it's because that story managed to push all of Cyborgs psychological buttons. However, I have to admit that a lot of his body of work has left me unsatisfied. He sizzles at the start but fizzles at the end. For instance, on that same press conference he tells us that he doesn't know what to do with Supreme Power. That he is lost. Great. Another unfinished project. So now you've got Supreme Power, Jeremiah, Legend of the Rangers, Crusade and Babylon 5 on his "stuff to finish" list. Sometimes I feel like he is turning into the Rob Liefeld of writers (not because of the quality of his work, but because his interest tends to wonder).

An excellent way to put it. JMS's best work always seemed to be stories unencumbered by oppressive concurrent continuity. His Spider-Man stories with JRJr are some of the best Spidey stories ever told, and his Fantastic Four run was very promising but was cut off by Civil War. I honestly can't wait for anything by JMS, but the opportunity for him to flex his creative muscle without editorial mandates is quite exciting.

I was a little bummed at the comment that Crusade is never going to be finished up in any medium. I figured that comics would be perfect for that, in the Buffy Season 8 vein. Granted, he'd have to cover a lot of ground, but still.
