He showed me some art and gave me a (to my eyes) huge box of old comics. Years later, I realized it was Nick Cardy. About two years ago, he was a guest at a con and I approached him and told him what he'd done 30 years ago. When I mentioned the neighbor's name, he looked over to see if his wife was watching, and pulled out the old girlfriend's picture from his wallet! As an adult, he is one of my favorite artists of the Silver Age. I love his old Teen Titans work. The short answer to "Who IS Nick Cardy" is that he's one of many old guard comic book artists who doesn't get enough attention these days.
