Nope, I’m guessing its just an addition to spice up the toyline (but odd there’s only the one…)
I imagine if he were in the film he’d have a less bright costume than that action figure.

Maybe in the third movie.
He would be such A cool villain to do.

Nope. But I hope I’m wrong.

Nope - It would be strange though with Deadpool in the Wolverine movie though!

I’m thinking he might, but probably only as a random goon for the Joker (which I imagine Firefly will be as well). I think we might see a series of “cameo villains” in the film.
I’d much rather seem him show only briefly in this film, as I think he’d make a great villain for the next film. It’s not too much of a stretch to think of a crime lord (Manheim?) hiring Deathstroke to take out Batman. That would make a great subplot and could easily be fit into the Nolan-style of storytelling.

Anthony Michael Hall as Deathstroke would be the most amusing thing ever.
Isn’t there a Teen Titans movie in production somewhere? You figure they have dibs.

No.

Nope. He’s just in the toy line to flesh it out and to throw off the fans.

no, just a toy, like Vengeance and Scarecrow were for the Ghost Rider toys, but it’s fun to watch the fanboys think they’ve discovered some big production secret.
Though in that case, maybe he’s based on the videogame? That would have been a better Curious Cat Cuestion: “Do you think Deathstroke will be in the new Batman movie’s videogame?”

The only way I could see ‘Deathstroke’ showing up is if the movie has an old-school James Bond style cold open where the hero has a quick fight which is cool but unrelated to the rest of the movie. And I don’t think they’d refer to him by name.

I sure hope not.

Yup. But I wouldn’t bet on whether he’ll be cool or not.

I’m still waiting to see (going from faulty memory, here) “Arctic battlesuit Bat-Man” show up in BATMAN RETURNS, per that movie’s action figures…

There’s also a Firefly figure.
I think if he were to be a character in the movie, the figure wouldn’t have been revealed, like the Two-Face figure (and Abomination for Hulk)

It’ll be a fanboy markout like no other if he shows up… but I’m not holding my breath.

You know, since the Scarecrow was reinvented as a guy with a bag over his head and the Joker was interpreted as a goth dude in makeup, I’m hoping not.

So, where am I supposed to have seen this? I have a decent selection of comics blogs & news sites that I make fairly regular rounds of, so I’m honestly not trying to be all “oh, I can’t be bothered looking”, but seriously, this is new to me. The only place that I check out regularly that covers toy stuff at all is blog@newsarama, what am I skipping?
Couldn’t you have dropped in a link or something?

You better double-check your indignant stance, there, dude. Scarecrow has been shown as a guy with a sack-mask for a long time, now. Also, since when is Joker NOT a guy in make-up?
I don’t understand what makes him a “goth dude”? If it’s the make-up, then your comment’s redundant and ridiculous. Other than that, you haven’t seen the movie or even close to enough of the character to know what his personality is like.
So, basically, your comment is completely stupid.

Nope, but I can see him being shoved into the video game.
And while I don’t like the new version of Joker’s appearance (Glasgow Smiles just… Don’t work for me) I have to say that you, Mr. Trumbull, are a buffoon.

Nah, it’s cool, Jack, I get what you’re saying. I would have put in a link, but the news story was almost a week ago, so I figured it was old news by now.
Here’s a picture of the toy.

Thanks, Brian. I’ll confess, toys aren’t central to my geek interests (also: I don’t do gaming), unless something really over-the-top super cool catches my eye, but I didn’t want to come across as too “oh, I’m above paying attention to anything outside my core interests”. At the same time, I guess I felt mildly frustrated in a “Oh my god, I waste enough time with geeky crap on the internet, what am I expected to keep up with now?” kind of way.

It’d be much cooler if they used Deadshot instead. At least he has the Batman history, and he doesn’t look quite as stupid. (An assassin in orange and blue? Yuck.)

Deadshot is the main baddie of the new Bat-Anime coming out in a few months. New Frontier DVD has a preview.
