Maybe they are not supposed to be scared of him.

Not just yet.

They are businessmen. Bolan is messing up their business. They discuss him like intelligent men dealing with a real problem, not like terrified children talking about a boogie-man. They compare notes, study the enemy hoping that, together, they can find a way to get rid of him.

Maybe it's just because I'm reading tiny pages half-sideways on a monitor right now, but the dialogue seems kind of hack. I realize it is expository, but half of it sounds more like it comes off the Executioner's marketing sheet, as opposed to from the mouths of guys who are supposed to have the crap scared out of them by him.

Yeah, please note that the story is certainly not BAD.

Just not good enough for me to recommend it. I definitely wouldn't say you specifically SHOULDN'T read it - just that I would recommend that you DO read it.

I'm looking forward to this series for my Dad. I've never read the books but he LOVES them, and I look forward to picking MB up for him. He enjoyed the mini-series Innovation did back in the early 90's and was so disappointed when that got cancelled with only issue left to go thanks to Innovation's bankruptcy.

Sorry to hear the story sounds a little weak, but it still sounds like it has a lot of the elements that he enjoys about the character/series.
