Shocking Plagiarism

I saw this awhile ago and thought it was neat, but my pal Kristen sent me a link yesterday, and she’s right, it’s worth sharing with all you good folk! Chris Bird, over at MightyGodKing.com, has dug up some shocking older comic books that will shed new light on what you think about DC’s Vertigo line of comics (or should I say, DC’s “Rip-Off” line of comics). Check this bold investigative report at his blog here.

Almost had me at first on that one. That’s damn funny.

OH man those are priceless! Great find.

Wow, those look good. I totally bought the Fables one, but figured it out on the Yorick.

Bravo! Well played sir

That was pretty funny.

Had me on the first one as well.

Funny stuff.

I wish these existed in some form now. Thanks for making reality look even more drab, you dicks!

The first one had me until the mention that all 1,245 fans were crushed. Damn good job on the photoshop.

They’re very good, but I wasn’t fooled even briefly– the lettering is a dead giveaway. I don’t know why people don’t try emulating LeRoy lettering (Todd Klein describes what that is here: http://kleinletters.com/Blog/?p=725) At least it’s supposed to look mechanical and the same!
