Considering DC has a bullpen of average artists on their roster, making sure Gleason don't go anywhere should be their priority. I'd like to see him draw an Adam Strange series myself
Maybe he IS better than the average DC artist, but not by any significant amount. I like Gleason's art, and I'm happy to pick up comics he draws, but not BECAUSE he draws them. Comparing him to some other DC artists who released work in March, here's where he would stand in my estimation:
TOP OF THE PILE
Ivan Reis
Matthew Clark
Damion Scott
Rafael Albuquerque
Rafa Gares
Scott Hampton
Renato Guedes
Jerry Ordway
Ramon Perez
David Lopez
PAT GLEASON
Francis Manapul
Bernard Chang
Liam Sharpe
Allan Goldman
Pat Oliffe
Sean Chen

Yeah, I'd rank a bunch of artists above Gleason, just looking at some random books from this month. What makes Gleason that much better than the other guys?
I like him on GLC because all of the aliens really work his exagerrated style. Doing something like Superman would be too tame for him. He could do a really great, distinctive Batman.
I think Pat Gleason is "right where he needs to be".
His art is very dynamic and he is very creative with his angles and page designs; but it seems to me that he is still maturing as an artist.
He hasn't been able to pencil a full issue of Green Lantern Corps (without the help of Angel Unzueta) and in my opinion, he is not consistent and some pages look more rushed than others.
Gah! Don't take Pat Gleason off of Green Lantern Corps! It's just about my favorite book, and there is nobody who draws aliens better than he can. AND he does a lovely Guy Gardner.
I'd love to see him on JLA, but I don't think that he has the time. Besides, I want Kevin Maguire on JLA.

But he is so awesome on GL Corps.
The only other title he should be put on is on JLA.

He also needs to learn how to work with a deadline.

Pat Gleason? Really?
He's completely average.
Better than Mark Bagley at least.

Yeah, JLA would be really cool for him.

It might not be a "major" title, but it's a good one.

He actually did a JLA one-shot written by Patton Oswalt a few years back. It was just as great as it sounds.

Yeah, that's when I thought, "Wow, this guy is gonna be great."

That's surprising - I can see not liking the guy's work (as, well, I can see folks not liking most every artist), but you think he's average?
His style looks a lot different than most artists, so I wouldn't think of him as "average," even if I didn't like his work.

Hey! Leave my GLC alone!

I think he's a 21st century Sal Buscema.

Has he done a Vertigo comic yet?

So what I'm trying to say is:
I wouldn't make him a "star" before he is ready.
