hi Katherine!

I'm a big fan of Manga Recon and I think Go! Comi should *pay* you money for making me interested in Black Sun, Silver Moon. I might just pick up the whole series one day and zoom right through it....

Thanks for the link, Danielle! I've been enjoying your column since I first saw it featured at MangaBlog and Precocious Curmudgeon, and look forward to reading next week's installment.

As for liking Vampire Knight, I can't claim it as a favorite, but I have my share of guilty pleasures that, if I had to defend them in a public forum, wouldn't hold up to critical scrutiny: Black Sun, Silver Moon, InuYasha, and Duck Prince all come to mind as prime examples. (Or should that be "offenders"?)

ha! no, there is no relation between those two things....the first PHYSICALLY kept me away from the computer & writing and the second (non-related illness) is making me too tired to put together a column in a day and a half.

"I worked all weekend in my local comic bookstore and haven’t been feeling so hot yesterday and today"

Wow, the store will actually make you physically ill if you spend too much time inside it?

I originally disliked Vampire Knight when it started serialization in Shojo Beat, but I've come around on it. Not enough to say that I love it, but it can be an enjoyable read. Lately, I've started to like the "action" scenes, which usually consist of characters placing swords at each other's throat and then having a 20-page conversation about how much they hate each other. That stuff cracks me up.
