"It also had one of the sillier cover gimmicks. There was an issue with a cover SO GRAPHIC that they could not show it in the Previews"

I'm gonna have to check when I get home, but if I remember correctly, the cover was in fact shown in Previews with a warning that said that it could not be shown.

I'll scan the page form Previews when I get home, I'm 80% sure that the image is on it in black and white with the warning as part of the solicit information.

As for Ostrander, the guy gets an F in VALIANT far as I'm concerned.

He failed to know the name of the free will robot from Magnus twice and on EW he "revealed" that Gilad was really King Arthur, a notion that contradicts both character's concepts.

Another Ostrander mistake of note was how in Eternal Warrior #33 he showed his ignorance and called Neville Alcott "Neville Sinclair" (a character that did not exist in the comics who had the name and last name of two different characters), while the penciller drew someone who was neither Neville Alcott NOR Sinclair.

If ‘T’ isn’t “Timewalker” then I shall recommend your firing.
I'll take that into consideration, Charles, particularly since T is not going to be Timewalker. :)

Eternal Warrior always kind of reminded me of Highlander, the tv series.

It was good but got overshadowed but other Valiant properties IMO. He could be an extremely unstoppable bad@ss if done correctly. Sort of a Valiant Wolverine type of force of nature.

Eternal Warrior had a neat concept, but I never found the execution very interesting. He was brave and heroic, he fought a lot, he couldn't die... Okay.

I always found him much more interesting when he appeared with Armstrong; it was a fun contrast with his brother, who really only cared about having a good time. For that matter, I found the future-version (who teamed up with Magnus) a bit more interesting, too, as he was a mellower, wiser version.

Actually, I worked with Ted Halsted in his post-comics days: he went on to be one of the founders of Human Head Studios in Wisconsin, leading a lot of the visual design on Rune (for the PC and PS2) and Prey (for the PC and the Xbox 360.) A great artist and a nice guy.
