When I see covers like these I wonder why it was called â€œThe Golden Ageâ€ of comics.

The comics here are clearly aimed at appealing to children.

Nothing wrong or right about that.

Yeah, Burnley was a great artist (also, before he did superhero comics, he WAS a sports cartoonist, which makes the sports motif work), and that cover in particular jumped out as a really fine piece of work.

The cover to World's Finest #29 looks very contemporary, and in my opinion is of much better quality than the other covers. GCD credits Jack Burnley with pencils and "Charles Paris (?)" with inks. Here's Burnley on comicbookdb.com-- http://www.comicbookdb.com/creator.php?ID=2110
