I gasped when I read Troublemakers (an Acclaim title, or, in some people’s opinion, though not mine, not a true Valiant title) shown here.

This was one of the best Acclaim titles and I agree that Fabian probably did his best work while at Acclaim. Though I never read New Warriors, from what I understood it was a pretty good title, similar in many ways to the best of the Teen Titans stories. This was really a very good, underrated title as most of the Acclaim / Valiant titles were.

I’m not a big Nicieza fan but I’ve long felt that he did some of his better work (or at least work I actually enjoyed) when he was running Acclaim/Valiant, specifically on another “J ” related character, Joshua Fireseed (aka Turok).

Though admittedly none of the other creators outside of Priest seemed to have the same enthusiasm for the line, sadly enough.

Troublemakers was one of my all time favorite books. There were elements from other characters, but used in ways never seen before. I got pretty excited when they introduced Peter Stancheck into the series, and had a Harbinger One Shot, but then the company fizzled.

Was this a lot later than the other â€œageâ€ of Valiant? Iâ€™m surprised at how many issues of each of these titles came out. I thought Valiant lasted like a year, total. Maybe I need to reconsider Valiant.

The Valiant ages generally go

Original ones – 1992-94
Acclaim takes over – 94-96
Acclaim starts over with new characters – 96-99

I can’t believe you actually counted this era of Valiant! (I don’t mind at all, just caught me off guard)
