Comic Book Alphabet of Vampires – T

Here’s the next vampire on the list!

This one is an oldie, but a goodie!

Enjoy!

Niccolai Tepes

Niccolai Tepes, also known as the Monk, first popped up in the fifth Batman story ever!!

A two-part story titled, appropriately enough, Batman versus the Vampire.

It led to Batman handing out hardcore justice.

MANY years later, Matt Wagner devoted an awesome mini-series to the character (now called the Mad Monk)…

Check out this homage cover…

And this awesome fighting cover…

This nice cover was used for the TPB…

They should totally bring the Monk back!!! A vampire villain for Batman would rule!

“If I were an alphabet I’d make it my pride
The best of all alphabet to be
And if I were a letter, no letter beside
Should mend an old kettle like me.”

-an old rhyme.

Kinda wish that Matt Wagner made a trilogy out of the MAD MONK.
It was fun to read.
Where’s that MAGE 3?!?

Dozens of people are probably lining up to comment that you missed one, so let’s get it out of the way. Dala and the Monk also came back to fight Batman and Robin in the 80’s,under Gerry Conway and Gene Colan.

Oh right, with the cool Colan cover!

He should still come back now!!

In the Red Rain universe, would the Mad Monk be an unpowered villian that vampire Bats would have to defeat? Or am i just Bizarro-ing the idea into some sort of Yakof Smirnoff routine. “In Soviet Russia, you burn garlic!”
