It's too bad noone has brought back Wildcat II or Dr. Mid-Nite II. Since DC seems to want to increase the number of minority characters, they'd be good options. Yeah, people might say they were dull...but as people pointed out, so was Hourman II till someone got a hold of him.

Itâ€™s even right there in the first sentence â€œwith a look at the top five characters introduced in the pages of Roy Thomasâ€™ Infinity Inc.!â€

None of those characters were introduced in the pages of Roy Thomasâ€™ Infinity Inc.

My mistake -- I was reading "Infinity Inc" as refering to the GROUP, not the book. The list makes more sense to me now.

I though Wildcat first appeared in Crisis before joining Infinity Inc and that the Icicle 2 died in the pages of Flash before being replaced off screen at some point with another one (though with the way villains get around it could be back to him again).

She debuted in an issue of Infinity Inc. a month before Crisis #1.

Loebs might have intended to kill off Icicle II in the pages of Flash. I know he introduced an Icicle III. But in current continuity, Icicle II never died.

It's beyond you? They didn't debut in Infinity Inc. It's even right there in the first sentence "with a look at the top five characters introduced in the pages of Roy Thomasâ€™ Infinity Inc.!" None of those characters were introduced in the pages of Roy Thomas' Infinity Inc. So it's odd that you had such a reaction to the omission of those characters.

You know, most of these characters remind me why I stopped reading Infinity, Inc. back in the day (That and an immense dislike of Todd McFarlane's art). The new Wildcat, Dr. Midnight and Hourman were LAME. Not much thought was put into ways to make Wildcat & Dr. Midnight different, other than their ethnicities and genders. And Rick Tyler was pretty uninteresting until Geoff Johns thought of some cool twists for him.

Always found Mr. Bones' rhyming dialogue annoying, too.

Really, Brain, it's beyond me why you didn't choose Hector Hall (The Silver Scarab, Sandman III, Dr. Fate IV, son of Hawkman Carter Hall), Lyta Hall (Fury, significant appearances in Sandman), Albert Rothstein (Nuklon, Atom-Smasher, slayer of Extant), Obsidian (a one-time villain) or Jade (a Green Lantern & an ex-girlfriend of Kyle Rayner). All of them have had MUCH greater impact on the DCU than any of these folks.

But if you REALLY want to make it an offbeat list, Brian, why not count the first appearance of Lyta Hall's pregnant tummy? After all, the kid ultimately grew up to be Daniel, the new Sandman at the end of Neil Gaiman's Sandman book.

The Bones / Manhunter conversation in the issue that came out this week was GREAT, by the way, with Kate attempting to play the race card with him (something I'd bet most readers weren't even aware of... then again, given the size of Manhunter's readership, maybe not...) and Bones getting *really* ticked off as a result.

I never understood why Mr. Bones was put in charge of the DEO. Not only he looks completely inhuman AND has a poison touch he apparently can't control, but he was raised away from normal society, so it cannot be a case of him having the right training for the job, either. Seriously, it just seems he was inserted there because the writer wanted to use him. Has a good explanation for his position ever been given?

At some point I'd love to see the backstory D. Curtis Johnson had in mind, or failing that a new one from Johns, about what Bones did in the (roughly, maybe) two years DC time between the end of Inf Inc and the beginning of Chase. How did he join the DEO, how did he become its director, what happened to his rhyming speech pattern (which he maintained intermittently in Chase but not since), etc.

Do the initial team of Infinitors not count because they were introduced in that All-Star Squadron issue? Because that hardly seems fair. Jade, Obsidian, Nuklon/Atom-Smasher, and the rest were created *for* Infinity Inc, even if they didnâ€™t first appear there.

If we count all them, the list would be obvious - this way, it's odd!

I've been really digging The Icicle, Cameron Mahkent. I really enjoyed the JSA Classified arc with him in and as you point out it's his personality that's really been developed.

Watching the current Venture Bros series I'm starting to see parallels between the Icicle and the Monarch. Two guys who are committed villains for life but you can't help but love them...maybe Icicle should get someone to hook him up with a sweet floating glacier or something.

Even though we know that if there's anyone who talks like Monarch in DC it's Dr Light
