Howdy terrific website! Does running a blog similar to this take a lot of work? I've very little expertise in computer programming but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyway, if you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share. I know this is off topic however I just wanted to ask. Cheers!

VERY cool, hard to choose a favorite (Chuckled at buttler's comment though). This might be more appropriate for CBUR, but I once heard Disney sued (or was planning to sue) Carl Barks over copyright infringement when he painted these but wasn't in the employ of the company anymore. It always struck me as odd, not legally (nor did it surprise me from a company like Disney), but because many of these paintings have been printed as posters in the Donald Duck weekly magazine over here in The Netherlands. Any truth in the story?

As a kid i always liked when he'd take a big mouthful of coins and spit them out like it was water. As an adult I see that's so unsanitary and it skeeves me out a bit.

The first one's a good start, but what I want to see is him diving around in it like a porpoise, and burrowing through it like a gopher, and tossing it up and letting it hit him on the head.

Scrooge keeps lots of his money active in his companies, Dan. The stuff in the bin is just the profit he personally made starting with his gold strike in the Yukon up through his empire-building world tour of the early 20th century. Those coins, bills, and other items all have specific personal meaning to him, reminding him of the adventures he had on the way to becoming the Richest Duck in the World.

Inspired choice . I've always loved the idea of the Money Bin even if it does demonstrate a total lack financial acumen on the part of Scrooge.

;-)

Every time I see those I wonder... WHY even bother having a DOOR on the vault.
It can't possibly be shut.

Ahhhhh.... but, anyway... I've seen reproductions (lithos and such) of these over the many years and even though I am NOT a Disney fan, I always felt the warmth and lushness of the paintings and the love that Barks obviously had for these characters and their world.

Good stuff.
