With My Freeze Ray, I Would Stop...

the time running out on Dr. Horrible, but sadly, I do not have a (working) freeze ray, so instead, I will tell you all to go to drhorrible.com and check out Joss Whedon's musical about a would-be supervillain (Neil Patrick Harris), his egotistical superhero nemesis (Nathan Fillion) and the woman they have in common (Felicia Day).

It is a lot of fun, and for a little while longer (I think it expires today), you can check it out for free! After that, it'll be out on DVD.

Watched the whole thing after #3 came out. Super awesome tragic comedy.

Man, I'm glad I heard about this today before it got taken away. This is easily the best thing Joss Whedon has ever done.

I believe this is available fairly cheaply on iTunes as well ($1.99 for each act.)

Hopefully Joss will do future work in this universe: I'd love to see the Evil League of Evil in action. (And by Evil League of Evil, I mean Bad Horse.)

I really loved this, especially how it all comes together in the end.

The hammer is my penis.

Yeah I felt it really got stronger as it went forward. And Nathan Fillion was hilarious throughout.

I'm in the minority and thinking this is decent at best. As one who disliked the Buffy musical episode (while I love musicals and the Buffy series in general, I didn't care for it), Dr. Horrible is better than Alien Resurrection but on par with Firefly/Serenity. While I give him and the crew props for trying something completely different, its just meh...

The season pass on iTunes for all three acts is 3.99. Me, I want to see more of Evil Thomas Jefferson.

Oh crap, that ended sad.

Man am I buying this, though.

I generally hate anything to do with Joss Whedon and I loved this. Neil Patrick Harris is absolutely sublime, and Nathan Fillion is brilliant. The pair of them can't do wrong, and this proves it.

I just love how Dr. Horrible kept hoping that Penny would see the true evil in his heart, and fall in love with him. Oh, and "It's a Brand New Day, and the sun is high. The birds are singing that you're gonna die."

I can't stop humming the tunes...

"That can't be a good sound"

Two thumbs up. If only I had more thumbs, so I could give it higher praise...

The DVD is supposed to come with plenty of chewy extras.

Thanks for the alert.

You know how sometimes ya get a song in your head and it buzzes around up there for a week or so?
'With my freeze-ray I would stop' has been my soundtrack since I heard it...

You see, I was that kid in Jr. High/High School who loved her musicals so much that she wore her souvenir show t-shirts on a semi-regular basis. And then I grew up and my enthusiasm for these shows became much more muted (not to mention coming to an understanding that most of these shows I fawned over were crap) and out went the souvenir tees. I didn't think I'd ever wear one again. And then I watched this and someone somewhere linked to a site where you can get your hammer emblem, Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible t-shirts. Yup, I ordered one.

I actually liked act 2 best. I felt that act 3 fizzled a little. I mean, yeah, the resolutions for Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer were fitting, but -- I don't know how to really say this, but it felt more depressing than tragic, if that makes sense.

Hey, that rhymes!

The Pink Pummeler killed me! Bwah-ha-ha!

Anyways, thanks for the heads up. I still wasn't able to catch it the official site, but it's okay, I found it on WhedonTube.com.

Hope this works...

Act 1

Act 2
