. . . dude, many of your readers may be walking Silver Age encyclopedias, but you didn’t tell the rest of us why this issue is great at all. Okay, second Inhumans appearance, but why is it great?

If this list were “the top issue numbers that people actually remember”, I bet most of them wouldn’t even be from 1-50. And there would probably be much more variety. But maybe that’s just me. If I could actually remember 50 issue numbers correctly, most of them would probably be Spider-man issues, Batman issues, weird crossover issues, or numbers that stick in my head just because I was looking for that particular issue for so long. Cool countdown anyway.

And hey, come to think of it, Nexus #6 was robbed for the Badger crossover on the bowl-shaped world.

being from wisconsin i feel it has to be west coast avengers #46 as well. they are the perfect team to protect milwaukee from all the various threats posed. since i can’t think of a memorable issue of the badger this was our only chance =(

kirby’s fantastic four surely could have a different issue number.

Don’t sweat it.
# 47 was NOT the start of Roger Stern’s run.

Sure, he wrote the little 5 page back-up story, but it only peripherally dealt with his upcoming arc (Clea).

But…Hey!
Not for nothing, but Doctor Strange v2 # 46 had a LOT of other big-deal attributes:

- FRANK MILLER cover
- MICHAEL GOLDEN drawn back-up story (a thing of absolute beauty)
- First time the Golden-drawn corner box icon is used.
- CLEA-centric stories – both of them (that’s a rarity right there)

If that isn”t enough, then you COULD nominate DOCTOR STRANGE: SORCERER SUPREME # 46!
It had the first appearance of…
[b]THE STRANGE BEDFELLOWS![/b]
The mighty team of:
STRANGE, SCARLET WITCH, AGATHA HARKESS (who I guess was really DEAD at the time?), DR DRUID & SHAMAN.

So awesome, it should be nominated TWICE!

What happened in Quasar #46, you ask? Glad you asked. In a months-later clean-up of Operation Galactic Storm, Neutron, one of the Shiar Imperial Guard, is finally stopped by Quasar and d-list guest stars, and the rest of the Imperial Guard show up to pick him up. This is, uh,t he part of the Quasar run where it’s nothing but three-issue stories cleaning up continuity points no one really cares about.
