We’ve all been there - caught looking at a book whose very existence is cause for embarrassment.

Yeah, I’ve stood lingering around the rack waiting for everyone to go away/not be looking so I could sneak a glance at some crappy book I felt an inexplicable curiosity about (though I guess it’s better to be seen skimming than immediately whisking it into the “definitely buying these” stack that you’re carrying).

Nice!

This got a pretty hard laugh from me. The shop I used to frequent had this exact guy shopping there. Bonus: his reviews, as I recall, weren’t very good.

Dude, I know it can be tough, but I just go in and buy what the hell I want to. I mean, as a comic book reader, I constantly brave a world that hates and fears me anyway. I read Justice Society Annual #1 in a crowded room. I can stand to let people know that I read Wolverine Origins because I’m an X-Men completist.
