Really, it is a good idea, and I do like the Haunted Tank. The concept appeared in that Doctor 13 story a while back, and didn't they print a recent phonebook of Haunted Tank stories? That plus continued interest in the Iraq War made it a great time to pitch something like this. The Iraq War made use of the Haunted Tank possible again, much like 9/11 made Captain America relevant again. Small comfort, I know, but this shows that it helps to read the zeitgeist and base some pitches on that. This is why you should send those good ideas in writing to DC Comics and keep a record of it. Mr. Reed's suggestion came around a month (from the dates shown) after the comic had already started production. That, of course, isn't to mention how long before that the idea was pitched to DC/Vertigo. Play with that as you will. It kind of relates to me as the old Doom Patrol vs. X-Men discussion.
