A quick Monday link for you

Kirk Warren over at Weekly Crisis asked a bunch of us who write about comics to do a guest installment on his blog about the different reasons we buy (or don’t buy) a book, and my particular installment is up today. Check it out.

That was a good read.

I’m a Bat guy, too, and I feel the same way about keeping up with him. That being said, Grant Morrison, a writer whose work I have a lot of respect for, has pretty much cured me of that tendency. I lost interest in his run on Batman when I started to feel like it was a love letter to the Silver Age (I got into Batman with DKR), but I was still planning on picking it up in trade. If Rich Johnston over at LITG is right about what’s coming next, I guess I won’t bother. It feels like I read that story in the ’90s in Knightfall, and I don’t much care about a repeat, regardless of the quality of its execution.
