Comments on: SDCC Thoughts on the Agents of Atlas Ongoing

I’m of many many minds about this. On the one hand, I am happy that Jeff Parker’s getting to do a series that’s obviously something he loves doing. On the other hand, I a) miss him on the Marvel Adventures titles, where he was spectacular every issue, and b) think it’s a crying shame that Bendis is writing the two “headline” Avengers books, while Jeff Parker is not.

It’s a quandary.

I think occasional minis would be more appropriate for this title.

Kirk’s absence will probably improve the book though. It’d be fun if they could get someone pleasantly retro like Eric Wight.

Agents of Atlas is one of the best recent Marvel books. I’m looking forward to the ongoing.

The limited series was my favorite Marvel comic of recent vintage. The Premier Hardcover of the book was perhaps the best presentation I have ever seen in a reprint volume. Dedicating half the volume to historic material was brilliant.

So, I’m a little excited about this.

Very cool. I have enough faith in Jeff Parker that, if he pitched this as an ongoing, then he knows what he wants to do with it. Could be very good INDEED.

It was a cool little mini. I do wonder if it can sustain a whole series since the mini was really a progression to what happened at the end. The idea of the team using the resources of this global criminal conspiracy does sound kind of awesome and could be an interesting struggle of good intentions and “bad” power mechanisms. Somewhat like Angel season 5 maybe.

Marvel’s C-level titles are so good right now. SO good. It reminds me of when I was a kid, but you know, in an alternate reality where Silver Sable and the Wild Pack and Sleepwalker were excellent titles or something.

It was an acclaimed series, expecially the collection they put out. I’m not crazy about this ongoing, I would have rather read another mini-series to make up my mind on this. It’s also not like the book sold that well the first time around, I can’t imagine how it will do this time, they really are churning out a number of these new series which I am not sure if they aren’t shooting themselves in the foot.
