Quasar #30 is a doozy: he crosses over into some of the best What If stories ever told! The Living Laser's duplicates are loose in the multiverse (which crosses over with a previous Quaze comic, some Iron Mans, AND the better part of a dozen What Ifs!). Quasar has to track them down! This was also the first-ever Quasar comic I picked up, so for me this is the one that made me realzie that stiching together the distant parts of the multiverse with a solid adventure story can be lots of fun, not just a *cough, cough*Countdown*cough* slog.

Not to be too nitpicky, but Mad was no longer a comic book at this point. If this is a list of greatest comic and magazine (or comic-related magazine) issues then I stand corrected, but Mad was a magazine as of issue 24.

That said, it would be kind of amusing to see what kind of argument you could make for Rambeau's debut being more memorable than Cap's Kooky Quartet.

That was the first time he was the FEATURED cover character, true (Brave and the Bold #28 was his first cover appearance period).

Brave & Bold #30 introduced Professor Ivo and Amazo, and was also the last appearance of the Justice League in the title.

Showcase #30 may have been the first time that Aquaman ever appeared on the cover of any comic, and served to launch him into his own title.

And, while I am not at all sure about this, Detective Comics #30 may be the first instance when a villain (the aptly named Dr. Death) returned from death, having apparently died in the previous issue.

There is no 30th Tintin album and most european series that long (Asterix, Spirou) usually are in mediocre runs by then, so I'll have to go with an italian one:

On Martin MystÃ¨re 30, the two-fisted archeologist Martin MystÃ¨re witnesses an experiment that aims to inflict the effect of thousand-year aging on inanimate matter. But something goes wrong, an ordinary mosquito gets into the time chamber during the experiment and comes out highly evolved. Inteligent and deadly, the small insect starts to kill those responsible for the experiment. Will Martin survive?
