I liked the art in Batman. Don’t ruin it for me. I liked the explanation for the existence of ZEA Batman. It reminds me of a short scene from Tower of Babel in JLA.

Actually a lot of what Morrison is doing now reminds of stuff he did in JLA.

I generally enjoy Tony Daniel’s art, but when people point out his flaws, I can’t do much to deny them. I just have cruddy visual imagery or something.

Cool reviews. My only contention here is Batman. Why wouldn’t you want to think in a Batman book? You’re certainly entitled not to, but I’m just curious, because… he’s a detective. Detective stories and thinking sorta go together, don’t they? I just don’t see Batman as a “fun and dumb” kind of book at all.

In this issue, the reader is basically just on the same page as Batman is, trying to figure out what’s happened. The brilliance is that he actually manages to decipher some of what’s happened to him and to his identity, even while he’s still tripping and playing out the effects of the mindfuck Dr. Hurt laid on him.

Am I the only one enjoying the art for Batman R.I.P.?
I think it’s some of Tony Daniel’s best work. He draws a bitchin’ Batman Zur-En-Arrh.

The nudity in the Hack Slash annual was all awful. The artist should be shot.
Every artist that uses drawn characters against real backgrounds as a timesaver should be ashamed.

They’ve actually been getting better about it with the X-Men… but, yeah, I just can’t for the life of me understand why you’d intentionally schedule SECRET INVASION, SECRET INVASION: X-MEN, SECRET INVASION: INHUMANS, SECRET INVASION: THOR and SECRET INVASION: RUNAWAYS/YOUNG AVENGERS to all come out in the same week, instead of staggering them throughout the month. Surely readers are more likely to buy one a week, than five at once?
