We WS fans are just glad that WS is back on the shelves and in more capable hands. These new titles have had mixed reviews but we're hoping they can hold their ground and become solid again. All the mess from the past will only be forgotten after that happens.

I eagerly await Stormwatch: PHD #13 that hits the shelves tomorrow, Ian Edgintonâ€™s Establishment was an incredible, though short lived, Wildstorm series. So far Iâ€™ve been really enjoying the Worldâ€™s End direction, but Iâ€™ve always been a fan of post-apocalypse stories. All the titles thus far have been great in their own way and Iâ€™m really looking forward in seeing where they take the characters and the rest of the WSU.

I'm not buying. I've been irritated with how the WSU has been handled over the last few years with my favorites constantly being mangled by every new writers creation because he has to prove how awesome their characters are by taking down the Authority a peg or two. Unfortunately the Authority has been constantly taken down pegs in their own book since the first volume ended and it's been a never ending parade on see who can beat on the Authority. I came to the WSU for the Authority and the worlds end stuff is the capper on half a decade on waiting for them to be allowed to be awesome again...which isn't happening, especially based on the solicits. So I'm done with the WSU. I am not going to give my money to something that just keeps frustrating me. Hell, I think it's pretty crazy that I've been giving them money for it this long.

The only Wildstorm book I ever cared about was Automatic Kafka, and that is obviously not part of the relaunch. So whatever.

The only way someone would understand what is going on in wildcats is if they have read everything wildcats related starting with version 3.0, including the majestic series. There's a lot of "wow" content for those that did do their reading, but for everyone else it is definitely going to fall flat. Too much insider information I guess.

Authority was outstanding. Great jumping on book, unfortunately again, you need to read number of the beast #8 to get the lead-in.

If anything gen-13 was the "meh" book out of the lot so far.

I am most looking forward to the stormwatch book as that was THE book to read after the worldstorm relaunch/failure. If it wasn't for stormwatch (and tranquility to some extent), wildstorm would have denegrated into a line of alternative superhero books (like ex machina) and horror minis. (stormwatch comes out on the 20th)

I enjoyed both the Wildcats and the Authority titles, but have no interest in buying another Gen13 comic (just doesn't do it for me) or StormwatchPHD comic, which is not reviewed here.

I really liked the "darkness" in the Authority issue. It really set the mood and allowed me to, once again, be fond of this team. I have not felt a liking for the Authority since Brubakers mini, so it was good to get that feeling again.

I hope DC stops tripping over there @#$& this time. Let these issues go for awhile.

This post is the first thing I've read that's gotten me excited about reading the Authority after Morrison's botched effort. I love these characters for whatever stupid reason, and I was completely unaffected when I saw the new Authority #1 sitting on the shelf. Launching with another massive crossover instead of a creator-driven approach for each new title was a bad move regardless.

I just don't want to see any DC characters popping up in these titles. The occasional interpublisher crossover? Okay. Interesting sometimes. An alternate Earth in the DC Multiverse? Not so okay.

I haven't gotten comics in a while (two months? two and a half?), so I haven't read any of these and can't comment on their story content. However, I have to say, as a reader of ye olde Authority, it's very odd to see narrative captions in play in the new series. Ellis, as part of his widescreen movement, eschewed that technique, save for the absurd notes on the Carrier cruising through the Bleed whenever the ship appeared. But, maybe the first person narrator is a good idea here, to introduce and explain all the bits of madness; it certainly can't hurt to have a personal guide to a foreign, broken land. Anyway, yeah, I'll have to check these out. If nothing else, all the art looks tempting. And, good call on the colorist. Looks like they all have the same letterer, too, which, I guess, is less unusual. Still, having a small creative crew can only help with consistency between titles, right?
