The thing I remember about Charleton was that the "Action Hero" line was good. Very good. Peter Canon - Thunderbolt, Judomaster, Strange Suspense Stories (Captain Atom), E-Man and Hercules were easy to get off the rack in my town. Likewise the horror books. Blue Beetle (with The Question) & Peacemaker, for some reason were much more elusive. I never once saw a racked copy of Mercury Man or Son of Vulcan It's not as if they were the first to be bought, as I always ensured I was patently waiting as the rack was refilled every Thurday afternoon.

Also of Interest:

Killjoy: The original Creeper.
Doomsday +1: OUTSTANDING Sci-Fi series
The Fighting Five: Charleton's answer to Blackhawk.
The Six-Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman & Space 1999.

Good article, but "minutiae", not "minutia", please. "Minutia" is singular like "labia". For me, the Silver Age ended when Dave Cockrum grew the Legion up. Costumewise, at least.
