Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I like this strip a lot. The transitions to and from the second panel are very effective.

Also, Wolverine is beloved by a certain segment of Marvel readership. Some gigantic dog ate someone who was basically useless. No one really shed a tear.

Actually Wolverine did eat a kid in an issue of "What If" IIRC. Had something to do with Inferno I think

Wrong on all three counts. I never watched Super Friends (I wasn't alive when it was originally running, and didn't care when Cartoon Network added it to the afternoon lineup), I thought bringing them into Titans as tech advisors was a neat idea, and I don't want my superhero comics to be that stupid. (And since when has Marvel been chock full of that brand of pseudo-maturity for "decades?" They started doing it about the same time everyone else did.)

Heh, Wolverine popping Armor like a soda can would have me rolling.

For me, while that issue of Teen Titans was surprising, that's not "mature" to me. I think that the Osiris scene in 52 was more bloody. I bet they bring Marvin back as some weird bad guy.

This strip hits the "problem" with that issue, and the problems with people bitching about it, right on the head. Everyone screeching about how violent and dark it was are the same people who HATED Wendy and Marvin back in the day, and HATED them when Johns brought them in OYL. And frankly, they're the same people who demand their comics to be "mature," as long as "mature" means more and more death and evisceration and anti-heroism and violence and amorality (hence the dominance of Marvel Comics for decades.) But a dog eats a kid and everyone's up in arms. If Wolverine was eating kids, everyone would think it was awesome.

Zan and Jayna already got worked into continuity as part of the Extreme Justice series, which is arguably a worse fate than being killed off in a modern book.

This is definitely one of the better strips thus far. The pacing is excellent, the "epitaph" is great.

Aw, poor Wonder Twins. Heroes killed off their male Wonder Twin first! That's the only time Heroes did something original before the comics.
