Anyone else ever seen Kirby’s drawing of Mickey Mouse as a super-hero? It’s in a book released around 1991, maybe called the Art of Mickey or something similar, which featured full-page Mickey drawings done by non-Disney artists. Crumb, Moebius, and Basil Wolverton also contributed.

I love Kirby. Love him to death. But thatâ€™s a sloppy sketch.

Well, it was late in the game for him, but it could have been that it was intended to be inked – in which case I think that’s more than enough for an inker to work with.
(Not that I know much about inking, but I’ve seen pencils that looked great on the finished page that were much sloppier than this).
