What's with all the clipped sentences, Hemingway?

"Sometimes these things are not. This pretty much was.

It’s got all of the elements bloggers want to see in their comics. Or say they want. Or want buy don’t support enough with their dollar. Or do, but we just aren’t a big enough part of the audience to make this stuff a bigger part of Marvel and DC’s publishing schedules. "

It was a dark night. Stormy. A dark and stormy night. Cold, wet. Raining.

Was this supposed to be a review of Elongated Man or a disguised bashing of people who, like OG Greg, don't like superhero snuff comics?

To be fair, Incredible Herc also turned out a good "morose event" arc for Secret Invasion. Pak's pretty great all around these days.

This post is the most awesome ever. But I have a Dibny bias. Anyway, I spent about 33 cents for the entire mini, and it's the best 33 cents I ever spent.

Well, I would have to think those demographics are smaller than Fox News Channel's viewership. So... my angry mob will be bigger than yours?

I am amazed at my ability to piss off people with what I consider innocuous throwaway lines.

We're taking turns this weekend. I expect an angry mob along any time now to tell me and Burgas how unenlightened we are for suggesting snuff comics are repugnant.

I was reading X-Cutioner's Song in 1992. So, I missed out on a lot of the context.

"So, there are quite a few sexual and political allusions in what is an otherwise light, fun superhero comic. That did strike me as odd."

It was 1992, man. A different Bush was in the White House. It was before the retro movement in comics, before it became cool to be a conservative, in a time when you didn't have half the fandom screaming for the removal of all sex and all politics from any comics that could somehow end in the hands of the kids.

I will totally go do that. Since if you do not watch Fox, you must watch MSNBC! Binary! I am amazed at my ability to piss of people with what I consider innocuous throwaway lines.

And you lost me right at the unnecessary Fox bashing. Now go watch your MSNBC.

I have one issue of that one, and I remember it fondly. I think it ended up in the pile of comics I gave away (there were over 1000 of them, and this one was issue 2 or 3), but I remember liking Parobeck's work and the general "fun" feeling of it.

I wish DC had just made the active decision to do a Marvel Knights style line and leave the majority of their books alone if they wanted to move in a darker direction. Or at least have a more kid-friendly line that didn't reek of pre-school.
