Yeah, you could tell where a lot of the influences were, but that doesn't mean it didn't work as a very enjoyable comic book. I like a lot of the influences. I like the Iron Fist mythos. I believe that the writer for Blue Beetle is actually Matthew Sturges, not Struges. Secondly, of COURSE the officials were squinting! It's El Paso, and it gets pretty hot.
