“Orange” is by Benjamim, a continental chinese.

Note also that Hong Kong has got its own comics tradition - and most chinese comics published on the US come from there (like all the one Geoff mentioned). Benjamim and his peers come from a different place.

Best,
Hunter (Pedro Bouça)

Good point, Geoff. I know Tokyopop is putting out some colored Chinese work, the first of which just got solicited and is called "Orange" (I *think* it is Chinese...or maybe its Taiwanese? I need to check on this...

It is also interesting to me that most of the manhua ( Four Constables, Chinese Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Storm Riders for example) I have encountered has been colored work, whereas the majority of manga and manwha is black and white. I think this probably contributes to its scarsity because it is so much more expensive ( i think) to publish color comics vs black and white. Since it costs more to publish, the collections are smaller and page count matters. At the same time, I wonder if some of the companies do this deliberately to set themselves apart from the more common manga and manwha.
