I have been consuming the Fear Agent trades this past month and have enjoyed them all (except the Tales of the Fear Agent collection, it doesn't really add much despite a story from Remender in there). I really enjoy the series and feel like all the cliff hangers would work better if I read the monthlies. With all the time travel and deus ex machina saves it is hard to believe that any of the deaths have weight in the series but it is still fun to see how Remender writes his way into and out of corners. I am still looking forward to volume 5. It is funny you should mention the Brubaker Daredevil because I am also reading those in trades right now and they read well together. Casanova, not so much. I should read it with Godland, I think.

I don't really have an opinion on any of these books, I just wanted to thank you for properly using the phrase "that said" instead of the moronic and repetitive bastardizations I see so often. If I ever develop the power to kill with my mind, halfwits who say "that being said" will the first to get the "Scanners" treatment.

I also love Rucka's work at Oni, but haven't really clicked on any of his superhero stuff.
I liked Gotham Central, but found Montoya to be a really annoying character - too obviously the writers favourite - and so enjoyed the Brubaker arcs more.
It's a shame he didn't keep going with Q&C as comics, because not only do I have little interest in reading about them in a prose book - I prefer LeCarre or Greene books when it comes to spies, and I doubt he's going to be at that level - but I've never seen a copy of the book anywhere.

Then again, if the book gets more people checking pout the comic so he can continue it regularly, then more power to him.

I’m scared to go back and read the Rucka stuff I enjoyed back in the day (Whiteout, Some Q&C, Gotham Central) I enjoyed back in the day because his work these days is sooooo bad.

I'm kind of the opposite. I didn't enjoy anything by Rucka in the early days - and even went as far as selling my copy of Whiteout. Since then I've found myself enjoying Gotham Central, Queen and Country, Checkmate and just about everything else he writes and am considering rebuying Whiteout to see if I'd enjoy it now.

>>Penciller Mahmud A. Asrar and Colorist Ron Riley provide some very slick art. I know Burgas is annoyed that Asrar<<

And there the sentence ends.

Remember -- looking your stuff over before hitting submit is not necessarily the worst idea in the world.
