Harley Quinn: Preludes and Knock Knock Jokes / JLI V1 to 3 / Superman + The LSH HC's were good reading but where are all the mainstream DC trades?

Good call on the Great Outdoor Fight collection, Brian.

Also, it's great to see the Joe Pitt casebooks getting some recognition on this list. Already Dead is one of my favorite works of genre fiction of the past decade, and in comparison to the spineless, castrated vampires of the Twilight series, Huston presents a refreshingly crude and grimy crawl through the seamier side of vampirism and of NYC. I've reread the first three books of the series recently, and I got a copy of Every Last Drop that I'm saving for the plane ride home this Christmas. I also hope to get some friends together and do Joe Pitt pub crawl at some point, visiting every bar Huston mentions in the series over the course of a night.

For my own addition to the list, I'd probably add Chip Kidd's Bat-Manga, which is a refreshingly oddball look the caped crusader with some incredibly clever villain concepts on display. Kuwata's fight between Batman and Clayface alone is worth the price of the book.

It's a nice list, with a good mix of old standbys, new classics and over looked books. I would like to add one more recommendation; The realitivaly new editions of Love and Rockets that Fanagraphics has put out. They are the cheapest and easist way to read what is one of the greatest comics of the last 30 years. I suggest for someone who is not at all familar with the series to start with "Heartbreak Soup"

Pretty good round up this year.

I thought I was in for a long and bumpy ride when the first post compared KINGDOM COME to WATCHMEN, but, like, 87% of that was solid and well written, and about quality material. Even Andy "Geoff Johns is the best writer of the year" Khouri is representing CEREBUS. (And got beyond volume 10. I'm reading the last two volumes right now, and this is slllooooowwww, painful going. So props for that.)
