Wow, 3 of these involve people bunching Batman with spiked knuckles. That's harsh. And how has no one mentioned the one truly noteworthy item on these covers? I'm referring to, of course, the story in Batman #174 "The Off-Again On-Again Lightbulbs!" I'm on the edge of my chair just thinking about the thrilling mystery that story must contain!

I think it was just something to set up Jean-Paul starting to go crazy - Tim stupidly made him a new Azrael costume that looked like Metalhead, and it triggered something in him.

I was gonna make fun, but then I imagined myself trapped in a plastic bag and being knocked around by guys in boxing gloves and sweaters. It was pretty scary.

But then again I don't have pointy gloves and ears, and Batarangs.

Oh wow, I totally had a comic with Metalhead sulking in the shadows and being all caption box narrative-y from far away . . . Wow.

I love the cover with Robin punching Batman. Just look at Batman's face! He's like "Are you . . . Are you being serious right now?"

We assume that whoever wins the fight is executed by the Joker in a quick and painless manner, while the loser has to live with their shame. The Joker doesn't kill them, he just makes fun of them until they burst into tears.
