Thanks loads, Brian! I'm back from my trip and just read the new issue. I was wondering about Sky-Knight myself....

Regarding a Charity/Whisper connection: Whisper's last name is actually spelled "A'Daire," so I kinda doubt it.

And I thought the pale-skinned, pointy-eared dude in the Cuban prison was going to be a vampire from a one-off issue of Superman: The Man Of Steel -- but then he turned out to be Eclipso without a hat. So see, these things aren't necessarily that involved.

I'll have to look up Mr. Goatee, though. Greg Rucka...?

Looking at the 3 extra villains on the last page - The female could be either Queen Bee or Livewire (althought the coloring makes me think Queen Bee), one is Shrapnel, and I'm drawing a blank on the guy with the goatee.

Two more things:

1) I searched for Sky-Knight and came up with nothing? New character, Kurt? Or just a different version of someone we already know.

2) Off topic, but I loved the first issue of Marvels: Eye of the Camera. Can't wait for the rest.

I think SCII is the Tatooed Man, who's simply using the same powerset as SCI I, who is now dead. And not that it'd stop comics writers, but it wasn't Whisper O'Dare, it was Whisper A'Daire.

If Whisper O'Dare is related to the O'Dares of Opal City, then Charity would be related by marriage. Or at least in this world -- all we know in regular continuity is that she and Mason O'Dare were engaged. Given that it's comics, I'd expect there's some connection between Whisper O'Dare and the Opal City O'Dare's. And if there isn't, since this is comics, where similar hairstyles can be used to create familial connections, there eventually will be. kdb

Given the... rather odd... nature of her appearances and disappearances, that's easy enough to explain away anyway. Good material if you guys are ever short on ideas for the backups, at any rate....

One of the characters on the last page is the current Crimson Avenger as made obvious by her guns and red bloody looking bullet hole. Oddly unlike the others she's not really a villain.

It's not Thanagarian. As Gangbuster says, it's Hawkman's old costume, spruced up and refurbished. So it's a new design.

It sure is! You didn't annotate the reference to Reverb (though you mentioned him in Vibe's description) and you misspelled Konvikt! Would Tom fall down on the job like that, eh? Would he?

A good annotation with some useful refs. Could do a bit less with recapping the plot of the very issue it's annotating, though.

Considering that, oddly, Space Ranger spends the entire issue using telepathy-style thought-bubbles to communicate, and given the xenophobia of the JSI, I suspect he's a very different DC character in disguise....
