Following New Ways To Die, I’m jumping on Spidey arcs that feature teams I like

I'm going to give the next two trades a go (just got the 'new kraven' collection), but I think this might be the best policy with this book.
Despite the whole 'everything carries over' policy (of sorts), I'm finding the book a little uneven, and it's detracting from the impact of stories for me.
One arc, the election is all anyone is talking about, the next it's not mentioned at all.
It's taking away from the unpredictability of it for me - it gets easier to figure out when a character will make a 'shocking' return by who is writing the book, as they have their own pet characters.
Which is cool - why force a writer to write a character they aren't that into? - but also makes me wonder what the point of containing it all under the umbrella of 'Amazing'.
Then again, this just could be because I was rather apathetic about 'Kraven's First Hunt' - it did little for me on any level.

As for Superman, I've been bitten by the Superman bug lately, and working my way through all the trades since Infinite Crisis, and boy does Renato Guedes' art stand out!
I hadn't heard of him before, but it's really good stuff.
I was worried when I first saw it, as it reminded me of Joshua Middleton's art, which I like for the most part, butt I was very worried that every second panel was going to be an up-skirt shot, but it's just good, clean art with solid storytelling that really helps capture the magic of Superman.
Is he new to comics, or have I just somehow been unaware of him until now?

Great column. What I Bought is cool when it's about some good indie stuff, but the mainstream bashing is getting really old. It's not good when it's more negativity & nit-picking than not. Not so bad this week.... because seriously, the nit-picking is sometimes, ahem, "annoying" ;)

Can we have a 50 year moratorium on the phrase "THIS ENDS NOW!" It seems like ten percent of all comics in any given month use it.
