FOR THOSE WHO ARE CONFUSED WHY WOLVERINE HAS CLAWS WHEN HE WAS A KID

The kid is actually WOLVERINE, and this claws are not adamantium yet, those are his bones. HE IS BORN MUTANT. YOU CAN PAUSE the part of the trailer where his claws are shown, the claws are not smooth. he only got his adamantium claws when he was experimented on and there he got his metal claws.

It's really too bad that they're picking up the bone claws, although I guess that's been part of the story since the copy of Wolverine #75 I have in front of me. It's now worth roughly $100,000 because of the COLLECTOR'S EDITION HOLOGRAM CARD COVER. (Wolverine goes left, Wolverine goes right! Wolverine goes left . . .)

Really, though, the claws should be implants. I like the idea of everything that makes Logan "Wolverine" instead of Regenerating Smell-Dude being the result of experiments. Adds a nice dimension to the character. Then again, I guess they'd never have run his book for years without the claws. Me, I would've subscribed to Logan: Declawed at #1 and stayed faithful all the way through the series' climactic end at #2. As it was, the Fatal Attractions books were probably the last few comics I ever read as a kid.

Not half bad; more or less what I expected, a big dumb ride through history full of Marvel cameos. I'm just wondering how badly they're going to misuse Emma Frost.

"Just thinking, isn’t Fox reproducing the X-Men recette, Wolverine + a lot of support cast ?!!"

Yeah, but I'm not sure if there's much to the supporting cast in this one. Of course, if we get a Deadpool screwball comedy movie out of this somehow, all will be forgiven...

... except for the slo-mo wire work. I know I said it already, but, geez, the Matrix was nearly 10 years ago now, Hollywood. This stuff doesn't impress anyone over the age of six these days.

Claret & Blue

" Are they making Mariko part of the ‘Special Team?’ "
It's Silver Fox the love interest of Wolverine.

"Did i see a small dark haired boy behind some Ice , is that Ice Man?"
It's William Stryker son as seen older in X2 (different colors eyes).

"Did i see a small dark haired boy behind some Ice , is that Ice Man?"
Logic would say it's Emma Frost 2nd mutation.

for everyone interested, Empire( british movie mag) made a shot by shot description of the trailer.
Here's the link:
http://www.empireonline.com/features/wolverine-trailer-breakdown/
They even mention Cylops & Banshee being part of the mutant imprisoned one with a blindflod covering his eyes & the other being muzzled. I didn't see them...

I don't know if the volunteering concept is that important to the character but it certainly brings more edge to the edgiest character.

Jesus... that looks like a mish-mosh of mediocrity. Sorry, but the third X-film killed all enthusiasm I had for the franchise, and this movie feels like it's 5 years too late.

Yup! Should be an enjoyable hour-and-a-half/two hours... Nothing mind-bending , but an enjoyable romp, very much along the lines of Iron Man and Incredible Hulk...

There are two poles on my comic movie swingometer - Dark Knight and LXG... As long as Wolverine stays somewhere near the middle it will be doing alright in my book...

Just wish Sabretooth had blonder, shaggier hair...

I definitely saw Blob, pretty sure I saw a young Storm, but most disturbing -- did I see Emma? There was definitely a blonde who turned into diamond, or ice, or something.

While it looks cool, and I'm a fan of Jackman, it looks to me like they're trying to jam in the Howletts, Silver Fox, the war-hero stuff, Weapon X, the Sabertooth feud....Gambit's in here too, and I'm told there's Deadpool as well. How much plot is in this movie?

If by 'intriguing', you mean 'stolen from The Bourne Ultimatum', then yes, it's very intriguing.

Not a fan of that trailer at all, sorry - it looks like a very 'budget' approach to such a profitable property. But director Gavin Hood's 'Tsotsi' was okay, and hey, it's Wolverine, so I'm still going to see it.

I like the idea of Schreiber as Sabertooth. If you're going to do a movie about this part of Wolverine's story, you need a Sabertooth who can *act*, and who can seethe malice, not a brute or an action star.

That said, I don't find Weapon X and its endless derivatives to be nearly as interesting a story as the Claremont-Miller mini-- or a contemporary-only one-on-one spy-thriller type movie between Wolverine and Sabertooth, with the latter taunting the former about memory holes but without any of the answers being filled in. Wolverine's much more interesting as a mystery than as an endless Escher sketch of memory implants, amnesia, and retcons.

“Plus I could actually see what was happening.”

"I still don’t get this complaint. Having just watched it on Blu-Ray, I was stunned at just how LONG most of the shots were (especially in comparison to Quantum of Solace, which I’d watched a couple of days earlier). No quick edits, everything well-framed, etc. Never really had an issue with seeing what was going on outside of the fight in the club."

Exactly... And even in the club scene, it's not that hard to see that Bats was kicking ass on everyone around him. Besides, clubs are SUPPOSED TO BE DARK.

Anyone who found TDK a snoozefest should probably just curl up with a double feature of Fantastic Four movies. Perhaps that's more his speed.

"As for Wolverine… after a year where Iron Man and Batman made superheroes done in the traditional way, costumes and all, cool again, it really does seem like it’s missing the point somewhat. Lots of slow motion, lots of wire work, and not a costume to be seen."

The lack of costumes doesn't bother me here, Stephen, seeing as this is Wolvie's origin(s). And the X-Men films downplayed the costume angle too. But I agree with you about the rest. I hope Wolverine is good, but it's almost certainly going to seem like child's play compared to TDK. I mean, c'mon... This is FOX we're talking about here.
