The TDKR fight was good, but for me it was behind the Bats vs Superman fight (which was my #1) and the Bats v Mutant Leader one.

The Supergirl vs Anti-Monitor one nearly made my list.

Honestly, though, that Thor story was standard, lazy post-CW JMS Stark. Tony hasn't seen his friend alive in years and shows up to wander around him in an intimidating, interrogation-style circle, telling him that he has to work for the government or else he's going to get his ass kicked.

It's simply not like the character at all. Tony would be overjoyed to see Thor, one of his oldest and closest friends. We don't need JMS's Starkvillain to give Thor enough reasons to fight Iron Man in the issue.

Thor vs. Iron Man was a good fight, I was really pleased with that one. The best of this five is definitely Supergirl vs. Anti-Monitor, really epic.

It took me several years to locate the Batman/Ras Al Ghul issue - Back in the days of newstand distribution, I had the issues leading up to it, but missed this issue. hen I moved to San Diego from the Midwest, I discovered Pacific Comics - before it tried publishing. The finally got a copy. I believe I traded for this issue -and the one I got had one of those labels from label guns taped on the front cover, such that you couldn't remove it. The wait was worth it. That's why this was on my list. Still, if not for trade reprints, this fight probably would not have made the list, despite its awesomeness.

With the exception of the R'as Ah Ghul fight, all of these kind of depressed me, as they all kind of speak to some sort of cynicism or grim satisfaction with violence.

Tony Stark is an A-hole. The Joker gets his last laugh by killing himself. We get to see Superman bawl for the first time while holding a dead relative. Jeph Loeb writes crappy comics. Not cool.
