Find the Clues on the Battle for the Cowl Promo!

Apparently, there are clues to be found on this Tony Daniel promo piece for Battle for the Cowl.

Now, in the past, some of the clues on these promo pieces did not exactly, you know, pan out. But since the guy writing Battle for the Cowl is the same guy doing the promo, I bet the odds are these clues will.

So any guesses as to what the "clues" are in this piece?

If you're actually looking for answers, David Uzumeri did a good rundown of this poster over at Funnybook Babylon. http://www.funnybookbabylon.com/2008/12/24/batman-683-what-the-butler-saw/

Obviously, if you wanna solve it for fun, don't look.

I'm pretty sure that the Batwoman in this picture is Barbara Gordon, as she has red hair and there is a broken wheelchair.

That was a good rundown, but as someone pointed out at another site (Newsarama, I think), Two-Bats-Face is covering his good side. If you look closely at his chin that's not being covered, you can see that it's scarred.

Seems to be there's a distinct beam of light pointing to the Bo-staff Batman. Or Harley's gun but I doubt that'd take up the mantle.

Hey Brian, look on the bright side, Tony Daniel may have picked up a few pointers on writing, having been on the receiving end of Morrison's scripts for so long... This could actually be a lot better than you expect it to be!
:-)

I would guess the Batman to the far left with the bo staff would be Tim Drake.

My money's on the T-Rex

Who's two-gun Batman supposed to be?

It's "Reign of the Supermen" the Batman Edition!

The reversed J on the Joker card makes a lower case b. Also, I think Two Face looks a lot like an Oni, which is cool. Most f the costumes refer to a Bats associated with the person wearing the suit. Two face's is the early batman, when he became Two Face, Tim and Dick the suits when they were first Robin.

I think the idea of Harvey Dent trying to be Batman is the single coolest thing I've ever heard of ever. I hope they do it justice.

Second coolest is Action Alfred. If only Jim Aparo were still around to draw it.

Worst idea is turning Barbara Gordon into Batwoman. Oracle is a better character than any female Batman knock-off has ever been.

And where's Catwoman? If that's Selina in the box, I'm going to have to go all Brad Pitt in Se7en on somebody.

Meh, these supposed "clue" splash things from DC almost always mean nothing. Remember those two super hyped Countdown images that ultimately meant absolutely nothing at all?

My money is, this'll be pretty much the same deal.

Also notice on Two-Face Bats, he's standing in front of a scarred penny.

I think it is pretty safe to say that, based on that picture, the next Batman is going to be Abraham Lincoln.

I would agree that the broken wheelchair could be Oracle walks but i doubt she is wearing the Batwoman suit . and has any one though that maybe the batman on the casket could be the joker for that is his pose plus it would explain Harley quin.as for who is the casket could be Bruce after rip. and the Bruce standing behind Damien that is Hush for the Bandage's give it away.

Anyone notice that Harley has a blue glove and that Bruce Wayne has bandages around his leg (Hush Maybe)?

Pretty sure that's Ms. Kane as Batwoman... Damien using Hush as Bruce to takeover/break up Wayne Enterprises? Arm looks female - Talia Al'Ghul? Barbara!??! or just Jezebel Jet?
Batman on Crate must be Jason... right? Tim with Bo stick, Dick in the centre (with Nightwing style Bat on chest)

What if that isn't hush on the far right?

Bandages = injury,
Leg injury on Bruce Wayne = BATMAN BEYOND.

Bring on Terry McGinnis!!!

"And where’s Catwoman? If that’s Selina in the box, I’m going to have to go all Brad Pitt in Se7en on somebody."

True, but - and I know with DC's lack of long-term planning this may not work out - with Dini heavily teasing her death in 'Tec only to back off, it's unlikely that she'd be killed off so soon afterwards.

I really like the idea of Damien using Hush for his own means, but I'm worried that means Talia gets killed off first. That'd stink.

Batwoman (whoever it is) is holding a magnifying glass. This could be a hint that she is going to be the new start of Detective Comics.

Original research!

surely the batman one the casket is hush, note the bandages under the mask

also can someone point out where the broken wheelchair is?

I believe Hush is the guy standing with Damian. I thought it was Dick at first, and that Damian was going to "pull his legs out from under him", but I think it makes more sense to be Hush after Dini's Detective Comics RIP story. If you blow up the picture, you can see a wheelchair wheel behind Damian and Hush.

Well, a spoked wheel, anyway; it could also be from a bicycle. (Why there would be a bicycle wheel lying around I dunno, but if it's meant to definitely be a wheelchair there are less ambiguous images they could have used.)

Tyler, Katherine Kane has red hair too.

The bit that seems to be a broken wheel is another matter, then again that could be there to mislead us. It could be meaningless, or as Doug says, it could be a bicycle wheel. With a purpose, perhaps, to confuse anyone looking for clues.

Or it COULD be Barbara, but since this is representational and not necessarily literal, this could be some vision she has of herself in a dream, in cyberspace, whatever. I'm thinking even if it IS Babs, there's still relatively little reason to think she's actually assumed Batwoman's identity.

Just how old are Dick, Jason and Tim supposed to be? And how old does that make Bruce?

Isn't there a penny-farthing old-timey type bike in the Batcave? Could that be the wheel?

Although I haven't been reading Morrison's Batman, I'm really happy to see the penny and dinosaur in there.

Mutt,
These things are fairly flexible Morrison puts Bruce's current age at 35. Dick is generally seen as being ten years younger, and Tim should be 17 or 18 at this point, but he was "16 and holding" for long enough that it's difficult to say. Jason's in his early 20s, I'd say.

Just wondering if the broken wheelchair and the female arm sticking out from the crate is symbolic of Oracle's "death". Thoughts?
