Scooter, it seems that you are the one who lacks understanding. I am not a Muslim but I have studied Islamic texts and Islamic law, and I translate classical Arabic. Female circumcision is illegal according to Islamic law -- it is an African rather than Islamic practice. Look it up -- it is practiced in a certain geographic area, regardless of religion. Many Christians in Ethiopia circumcise their women. As for Sharia's lack of human rights for women, I don't even know where to start on that one. Muhammed was probably the biggest champion of women's rights to grace the medieval ages. Islam seeks to establish rights for all humans, including women. Quote from the Grand Mufti of Egypt, one of the highest ranking clerics in all of the Muslim world, ""Sharia is meant to protect Islam for Muslims, and protect the religions of all people who follow texts that proclaim the existence of God. Sharia also aims to protect human dignity and human rights within the context of a global society and its stewardship of the earth. It forbids tyranny, prostitution, suicide, drug abuse—anything that reduces a human being to an object. Under all these rules and goals human beings can live out their lives, happy, safe, and at peace."
Please educate yourself so that you don't further disseminate the unsubstantiated stereotypes that blemish the reputation of Islam.

G. Willow Wilson is a confused idealistic young woman. As a muslim convert, she fails to understand how that culture endangers her as a woman. Does she endorse forced female circumcision? Does she support Sharia's lack of human rights for women? What foolishness it is to laud someone like her. Please help her understand her folly.

Is the first Air TP out yet? I may get it due to it being $10, and it sounds interesting. I dig the cheap price of most Vertigo first trades of ongoings. I want Young Liars too, to be tangential.

And isn't an issue of Air (7 I think) going to be just a buck? Hope it's a good "jumping on point".

Another fine selection. I think she's going to be one of the major writers to watch out for as she takes her place as one of the successors once 100 Bullets comes to an end. Air constantly takes chances and bringing in new concepts of on the way we perceive things and flat out something new. I also agree that the end of AIr #5 was one of the best surprising endings of an issue in a long time.

Good choice, Brian. Air has been a very enjoyable read so far. It's the first Vertigo book I've bought regularly in ages.

I really dug her Metamorpho/Aquaman Ousiders one-shot. She made the new Aquaman likable - not that easy a task. It was a inconsequential issue, but I liked her characterization.
