Well, I think that's too bad for Catwoman. Her boots will be soaking with that guys blood when she returns to her Catmobile. She should've worn galoshes.
Just calling it now.

If the Kuberts are so lazy and slow, why could they do monthly books when they were at Marvel? I'm not defending them, I'm just wondering what happened. At least Frank Quitely is slow everywhere he draws regardless of the company.

Knowing how ungodly slow & lazy all Kuberts not named Joe are, I wonder how many years ago the pencilling started?

looks interesting.

But I am a bit confused. I didn't have to click through a million different pages to see all of the preview. You can have more than one picture on a page? Does not compute!

I caught the Jim Aparo reference on the highway exit sign for "Aparo Bridge." Anyone else catch any other references? Does the giant typewriter billboard refer to anything? Or the movie playing at the theater (something with "Whispers")?

If I had to guess T, I think the metatextual stuff will only be in a sort of framing story. I agree that more metatext is probably not what we need but I'm willing to give Gaiman the benefit of the doubt.

Cool. Myspace commenter gives a bad name to Ryans the world over. First, he has that horrid Bush avatar. Going further, he makes the ridiculously ignorant query: "Is this going to be a comic or a 2-part graphic novel"

Don't read the comments, they will ruin the greatness that is that preview.

That is some beautiful artwork. I was stunned by the depiction of Gotham on the first page. Too early to comment on the story though. But Gaiman seldom disappoints.

I'm really, REALLY hoping this doesn't turn out to be another "1602"...where I loved the first 7 issues of the project, and was severely disappointed in the 8th. (And worse, this is only 2 parts, not 8....)

Zee, the kitsch part I actually like. If I have to endure more self-aware metafiction, at least have it so that it's kitschy and tongue-in-cheek over pretentious and taking itself too seriously. Overall i think this will be good.

Writing and art are already a huge step up from Morrison and Daniel, but I'm disappointed at what looks like hints of even more metafiction from DC.

I have been really disappointed with Gaiman's writing and the Kubert's lack of performance, so I will probably skip this. "Whatever happend to the Dark Knight?" sounds like a real winner.
