That’s less beleivable than the Hulk Machine of the early ’80s—and that was just Hulk Hogan with a box on his head.

He looks like homage to a Windsor McCay character, actually.

I loved when that clown costume was used on an actual Hulk robot in The Thing comic.

That poor pony looks so very unhappy with this most recent turn of events.

Not to mention the elephant…
… and we know what happens when most animals get nervous, right?
It’s gonna get very messy, very quickly…

I’d imagine the Hulk to be pretty much unemployable even in a good economy.

Man, the Avengers comic was just STRAIGHT down the crapper from that point on, wasn’t it?

“Man, the Avengers comic was just STRAIGHT down the crapper from that point on, wasn’t it?”
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!! Of course, had they ended it right there, it would be the greatest piece of sequential art in history. Funny how these things work.

Is the Hulk actually juggling them in the proper criss-crossing action or is he just tossing them around in a single giant circular motion?

A single circular motion is still juggling.

I’ve obviously been reading far too many comics, because I just read that one about two months ago, thanks to Marvel digital comics. Which now makes me sound like a spammer. But I love those early Sixties comics I grew up on, despite they’re being so utterly stupid.

It takes alot of talent to be a clown.

“Of course, had they ended it right there, it would be the greatest piece of sequential art in history. Funny how these things work.”
So, TV gets ‘That show jumped the shark’ … Comicbooks get ‘That book dressed as a clown and juggled some animals’. Just not snappy enough.
“I just want to know where they got that seal from”
He’s not being juggled, he just wanted to join in.

“A single circular motion is still juggling.”
Not according to people I know who are avid jugglers.

If it involves tossing horses, seals, and elephants, it should count.

When did the Hulk start wondering what to do next?

More importantly, you try telling someone that can toss horse, seals and elephants what they’re doing isn’t real juggling.
This has long been one of my all time favorite single panels of any comic book.

Homage or not, the reprint of this mystified me as a child. Someone, somewhere, would apply Occam’s Razor and conclude that this is likely not a gigantic green clown robot that looks exactly like the guy who was recently accused of trying to derail a train.

Is this an alternate costume in any of the Hulk video games? Cuz I would buy 10 copies if it were.
