Excellent review.
I’ve read the Japanese version and I think it’s a really amazing work of art. Or at the very least an excellent comic book. Hope you’ll continue to share your analysis with us!

I would say it's nearly as good. I'd give Pluto an A+. By comparison, 20th Century Boys is a little plot-heavy.

I love Pluto. Frankly, It’s one of the top five manga I’ve ever read. If 20th century boys is as good as Pluto is, and it does sound like it, I may have to start reading that too.

Hee hee hee. That’s a very good description of it. I am going to try reading it as it’s released with the hope that I’ll be able to remember all that happened, but if that becomes impossible, I may have to save it up to marathon upon its completion, like I did with Monster. I might end up really following through with that scorecard idea, too.

Pluto is not nearly as plot heavy. It has mystery, to be sure, but I think what it REALLY has is atmosphere.

Excellent review, as always! I struggle with this book because I certainly liked it but it just had so much PLOT. It was like PLOT SANDWICH with a SIDE OF PLOT and PLOT-TINI to drink….I ask myself, am I going to hang in here for the pay off? Maybe. Maybe not. I think I want to but….I’m just not sure if I can keep such a complex constellation of activity straight in my head.

I finally got my hands on PLUTO today (I didn’t get mine last week ’cause as an employee the comic book shop puts customers first and it sold well last week) and I’m looking forward to see another flavor or Urasawa.

Thanks. Of the two Urasawa works published in February, I must admit that I love Pluto the best, but this is definitely a very, very good manga, too.
