Here is the cover by artist Mickey Duzyj. I think he did a very nice job (click to enlarge)...

Pre-ordered!
I had said to myself that if you ever put out a book with the Legends I would buy it, and you did so... i'm buying. Eleven bucks isn't much, also, even for me that one dollar is 3 pesos, so many people should buy this.
Congratulations for the publication, what DaveOMac said stands for me as well, you always help the workday go by, and Comic Book Legends Revealed has always been a highlight of the site, you certainly deserved this.

I love the cover - it's appropriately commercial and looks "comic-booky" on the stands, but nicely avoids "Pow! Zap! Wham!" type clichés. Pre-ordered!

That's great congrads Brian. I'll definitely be picking it up at some point. Maybe Zack Snyder can make a movie adaption of the book his next task after Watchmen.

Neat!
How much retooling have you done to the columns as they appeared here? I imagine you would have taken out stuff like 'reader so-and-so asked'. Were you able to get clearances for all the artwork?
Congrats!

They just gave me an American one, AG, so just use your Canada one. But I appreciate you asking!

my most honest congratulatuions, brian. i'm afraid the distribution market pretty much sucks here in colombia (so stuff ends up at three or four times of it original prize), but if I catch this somewhere, I'll buy it

Also, Brian, I await the inevitable sequel: "The Case of the Phantom Penis... and even more Comic Book Legends Revealed!"
Also also, can you use comics as a tax write-off now?
Mike Blake
February 25, 2009 at 7:39 pm
Aha! Was preparing to market this part of the reason -- or the main reason -- for dropping the "Urban" part of the column's name? Enquiring minds want to know! (And congrats and good luck with it.)

I visit this site twice a day. When I log on and see a new "Legends" is up, a smile crosses my face. I know I will have a good read. I wish they were twice as long. 'Grats dude.

Congrats on being published! I appreciate and marvel at the effort you put out each week in your well researched and well written column (in addition to the all the other articles you contribute). Definitely will purchase... about time you get some more financial compensation for the good work you've been doing!

...The "half new stuff" should really contain some fun dirt, Brian. Stuff like:
Q: "Is it true that the reason Dan Didio's screwing up DC so bad is that he lost his hair because of a Superman comic, and is seeking vengeance?"
A: " Can you think of any other reason?"
Sijo
February 25, 2009 at 9:00 pm
Congratulations, Brian.
So, when can we expect the VH1 version?
Hey, comics is about the only thing they haven't exploited for Tv specials yet. Or have they?

Congrats!
I don't know whether I'm more impressed or jealous. The only book I ever had my name on was the instructor's manual for a political science prof's local government textbook when I was a grad student in Tempe about 25 years ago. Not *quite* the same thing ...

Brian,
Let me add my congratulations as well.
I'll be ordering a copy (thanks to Blackjak for the amazon.co.uk link).
If I hadn't found a random link to "urban legends" in Google, I would never have come across your excellent "Comics Should Be Good" site.
This site and your book makes me happy - I prefer to read about comics than read comics these days. For those Proustian moments.
