yeah the CBG awards… not a list of noms i would have selected but still fun to vote. the Glyphs fan award though… some of the best comics of the year were on that list!!! personally, i voted for War Machine, but Vixen and Young Avg Presents #1 were also super excellently AWESOME!!! and you gotta LOVE Afua’s art in Genius. great stuff.

And I’m pretty sure the Sinestro Corps War shipped entirely in 2007, so it shouldn’t even be eligible for this list. Weird choices.

It was fan voted nominations, as well. Of course, what I DON’T know is how many people voted on the nominations. It could be few enough that, like, a few dozen Derf fans could affect things.

Man, I was thinking the same thing. I like some of the stuff, but none of it would be even close to my favorite of the year, except maybe Captain America for best series. I love George Perez and Sergio Aragones art, but have they really done anything this past year? And who the hell is Derf? Seems like it must be a pretty specific group of fans that did the nominations for those awards.

Yeah, I was initially ready to vote for CBG, but there really wasn’t much reflective of my actual tastes in there, so I decided to abstain.

The selection for that Comic Buyers Guide award was really dreadful.

For most of those questions I was like “None of them!”
