Super-man: a musical.

God help us all!

I don't quite get it.

Very funny!

Michael - re-read the last issue of Final Crisis where Superman directly defeats Darkseid.

Can we get a scan of that scene?

Not the best. I was confused at first since you recently did a comic mocking people who didn't want to understand FC. It wasn't until after I was done that I realized that the punchline was mocking everyone else at DC.

It wasn’t until after I was done that I realized that the punchline was mocking everyone else at DC.

Actually, I think this falls under "mocking people who don't understand Morrison but try to build on his work anyways." Also, this isn't limited to DC (see anything about the X-Men post-Morrison that doesn't involve Emma Frost-Cyclops.)

Ha. That was pretty good.

Have a good day.
John Cage

Nice one.

Damn - For a couple of panels, I was actually expecting that strategy to work.

@ Fitzpatrick: Of course, there actually _was_ a Superman musical.

So Super Karaoke defeats Darkseid in FC? really?

Exactly! Now bring back BATMAN!

Second the Bwah-hah-hah-hahaaaaa!
(with all the quiet irony of your choice)

How do you not get this? I don't even recognize the song, and it's completely obvious what the joke is.

Good one, by the way, guys.

That would be Pat Benatar's "Shadows of the Night"

Which I should also say makes it that much more hilarious to me. Especially imagining Superman using "super voice mimicry" to sound just like her.

RE Superman: The Musical

It exists. It's from the late sixties, and it's called "It's a Bird, It's a Plane... It's Superman!

Check it out on wikipedia.

I approve!

This Sean Whitmore fellow... he is not unformidable.

I'm guessing that the joke here is that Morrison's ideas are mad enough that he's probably got a musical universe in the new multiverse? Not sure though. This one didn't work for me.

(and it's a good thing I checked the "Your Name:" field. It wanted to put in "Cambert" for some reason)

I laughed at this. Also, Black Manta wiggling his feet in the air is cute.

Ha! awesome.Actually, the DC people don't usually want to even touch the concepts morrison throws in. Case in point: the ultramarines, seven soldiers of victory.

LOL! I loved the line, "It worked once, I swear to God it did!" This coming from a man with super-ventriloquism, a flying Supercar, and a pet monkey.... Is there any story too outrageous for Superman.

Does anyone else remember the story where they said his glasses made from Kryptonian glass hypnotized people into seeing Clark as being smaller and skinnier than Superman?

Oh, and my first huge laugh was on BC's "Aw, Hell"...

Look! Black Canary being competent when not written by Simone or Bedard! Take a picture, kids, or else your friends wont believe you!
