A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments – Day 74

Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!

Today we look at perhaps the best kind of scene for the Ides of March, courtesy of Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen and his harried boss, Perry White.

Enjoy!

What I love about this scene from Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen #22 is just how prototypical it all is – you get the whole kit and caboodle here…

The rest of the story this came from was excellent, too. It’s the classic “The Super-Brain of Jimmy Olsen,” by Otto Binder and Curt Swan.

I believe it was reprinted in the recent The Amazing Transformations of Jimmy Olsen trade paperback.

Heh. By tying the contents to the date of publication, does this entry become the coolest of the Cool Comic Book Moments so far? :)

cool moment for one could see Jimmy found a button to push of Perry’s and scary how old the issue its taken from is

I never really understood why Perry White hated being called “chief.”

Curt Swan is getting a little more love in the community now, but it’s still nothing compared what he’s due. That man was one of the finest comic artists of all time.

You know why he hates being called Chief?

Perry White is Apache Chief. You’ve never seen the two of them in the same room…

It’s one Superboy punch away from reality!

he LOVED being called chief in lois and clark! lol

I was disappointed that the Many Transformations of Jimmy Olsen didn’t include his crossdressing.
