So soon with another edition of Name That Artist? Surely I jest!

No, I’m not jesting. And don’t call me “Shirley.”

As usual, it’s easy to play. Simply guess who drew these panels! It’s only one artist, and it’s all from the same comic. I’ll give you one hint: That artist you’re really, really, really sure drew this? Yeah, it’s not him.

Have fun!

I guess Chris Bachalo. I am wrong.

It could be Steve Scroce.

David Hine?

At first I thought some of the faces had a Matt Wagner vibe (too much detail anyway), but I’m going to run with the clue and say Colleen Doran.

Definitely Steve Skroce.

It’s Steve Skroce, I think….

Skroce. Razorline was a weird comics line…

Bill Willingham?

I know this art is by Steve Skroce, but just curious Greg, who did you think we WOULD think this art was by?

I’m just wondering because of this line you put: “That artist you’re really, really, really sure drew this? Yeah, it’s not him.”

1st I thought it was Tom Lyle … then I thought It may have been early Kelly Jones … then I thought it looked a little like Doug Rice, but not enough that I would have gone with him, then I went back to Tom Lyle … until I read all the posts, and yeah, I think its Skroce now too … from Ectokid …

Man, you people. So hard to fool! It’s Steve Skroce from the short preview of Ectokid in the back of Hyperkind #1 (I assume it was reprinted as part of Ectokid #1). Interestingly enough, James Robinson wrote it. Odd.

T.: I thought people might guess Joey Q. It has, to me, a slight Quesada vibe to it.

Well, I couldn’t place it right away, but I did reason it came from one of those weird Clive Barker comics that went nowhere.

My guess is Micheal Zulli.

It took me all of 2 to 3 seconds to figure out it was Steve Skroce. The second page especially gives it away – also recognized it being from that Clive Barker/Marvel RazorLine (?) sub-set of books that clogged up back-issue bins in the late ’90s even here in not-so sunny Amsterdam. Nice choice, though! His Spider-Man is superb (wish we’d see more of that someday), and Doc Frankenstein is a lot of fun (when it comes out), but I really fell in love with his artwork on those two issues of Alan Moore’s aborted/still-born Youngblood run.

I was thinking that Chuck Wockjjakewiczxzxc guy that was around for a while.

I was thinking either Scroce or Mitch Byrd.

i was actually thinking Chris Batista

For a second I guessed early Quesada, but image #2 made it clear that it was Skroce.
