Poor Robin, he never does well in fan voting. Break out the crowbar

Doctor Strange vs. Dream of the Endless is a much tighter contest than expected. It makes me wonder if Sandman hasn’t been un-used for too long.

It’s early. If Flash-Death has taught us anything, it’s that Vertigo characters tend to do better early on in the poll than later. Dream (and probably Constantine) will slow down as the voting continues.

Have to agree with Thok on the Vertigo characters, but I thought Death would have more staying power and last a couple of rounds but it didn’t look that way when I voted yesterday. later!

Poor Namor.
He’s probably one of my favorite Marvel characters. It sucks that he had to be paired against Doom, who will obviously win.
And why isn’t Doc Strange winning?

Rrrgh. Poor Namor.

I am officially rooting for a Drs. Strange/Doom showdown. Drawn by Steve Ditko.

My thought is more along the lines of “How is Doc Strange staying close?”
Doctor Strange had a great start with Lee-Ditko. He has had some brief runs at being interesting, like the Stern-Rodgers run. However, there are maybe two dozen interesting Doctor Strange stories total over four decades.
Conversely, “Sandman” was interesting every, single month for six straight years.

Why no Ms Marvel? She by far is the best looking, best built comic book female this side of Power Girl. She should be in rather than Jean Gray who’s been dead more years than alive.

The funny thing about a Dr. Strange/Dream rumble is that Doc mops up the floor with Nightmare five times a week, and twice on Sundays.

Batman vs Firestorm…it’s like a snuff poll.

I can’t believe Cyclops is neck-and-neck with She-Hulk. I’ve always found him the most boring, whiny, insufferable X-Man ever.

The problem is neither Cyclops nor Shulkie is strong enough to blow out the other.

Well, I’ve been meaning to read Starman for a while now.
And I haven’t been intending to read Kyle Rayner comics.
I guess that counts as a criterion.

Dream vs. Dr. Strange was also a headscratching matchup.
Hard call.

I felt that Sandman the title was very interesting but Sandman the character not so much.

Jeff, you need to track down the Marvel Graphic Novel Dr. Strange / Dr. Doom: Triumph and Torment, by Roger Stern & Mike Mignola. You won’t be sorry.
I will be SO heartbroken if Jack Knight loses to Kyle Rayner. Starman ended almost a decade ago, and I still miss Jack.

Darn it, why’d Jesse Custer have to draw Wolverine. This is the one upset I’m rooting for.

Doom and Namor. I need to read SUPER-VILLAIN TEAM-UP.

Kyle vs. Jack? Two of the definitive 90s DC characters fighting each other? That’s freakin’ cruel, man. And you know they’d get along in what passes for “real life.”

Wolverine vs. Jesse Custer. That’s fucking heartbreaking, that one is. Jesse Custer is a great character, through all 66 issues. Wolverine is a crappy character most of the time with moments of greatness, and he’s in every Marvel product ever made.
What a rough draw.

Dr. Strange is the kind of character who hasnt done anything interesting in 40 years.Magic characters dont seem to be Marvels forte.

So, it looks like Constantine is the only non-superhero/villain making it to the second round, all the others (Death, Swamp Thing, Spider Jerusalem, Dream) have already lost to superheroes.

Oh, sorry, I see Morpheus still has a chance to win Dr. Strange, though it doesn’t look good at the moment.

I suggest a special “Roadkill Round”, Jesse Custer vs. Firestorm

I’m waiting for the “headshot” image of Jesse Custer getting knocked out of the poll.
