The Last Thing Barry Allen Saw…

The visual went along with the accompanying exclamation, “It’s Clobbering Time!”

The Thing decks out The Flash (Barry Allen), 254-251. The Thing got 50% of the vote.

That makes me happy.

50.297% of the vote ;)

You made the right choice.

I’m not voting, but wow…how exactly would the Thing beat a guy who runs through time?

By punching him into next week?

@Dingo Ha!

Barry has his good days and his bad days. Somedays you run through time, sometimes you get beat up by the Golden Glider.

Barry’s taking it to the Minnesota Supreme Court. “Count some more absentee ballots, but only the ones that voted for me. “

OK, totally fair, even though it didn’t swing my way.

But that Thing cover forces me to ask who would win in a Ron WIlson vs. Carmine Infantino match, huh?

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

Super funny.

That’s a lotta ballot stuffing by the Yancy Street Gang. I never thought that this would be close seeing how long Barry’s (had) been dead. Must be a lot of us old guys voting.

Booyah.

This Man, This Monster ranks above pretty much anything even remotely involving a Flash I’ve ever read anyway.

Isnt this which u like more not an actual fight?
Barry Allen back as flash, what will this be the 14th Flash no 1 issue?

The thing that impresses me the most about these polls is Cronin’s amazing use of cover images, especially this one in conjunction with he previous Flash cover. Bravo, sir.

This cover is a great choice. I’ve got this issue, which is pretty cool on its own, but I think I’ll have new admiration for that cover from now on.

Honestly, I don’t worry about who wins these votes. I just like mentioning that the Flash can run through time. It’s possibly my favorite goofy super-power ever.

I notice that Rorschach scores an upset win elsewhere in the tournament. Since the rankings were based on previous polling it is not surprising that the higher polling character has almost without exception carried the day. It seems likely to me that Rorschach’s win is due to his high profile movie appearance between the poll and the tournament.

Barry is just barely back and out of the blocks. In the finest tradition of the NCAA, I’m hoping for a rematch next year. With Barry’s high profile spot in the DCU for the coming year, the results may be different next time.

Wowza! I was torn as I love both characters but very narrowly ended up going with Aunt Petunia’s favourite nephew. Didn’t think it would be this tight!

“But that Thing cover forces me to ask who would win in a Ron WIlson vs. Carmine Infantino match, huh?”

Infantino, by a mile. Or a Light-Year. ;)

It seems unlikely that any of the 500-odd voters have simply forgotten Barry. We’re not exactly polling the ultra-casual fan.

Over the years, I’ve probably read 30 Barry issues to any one with Ben. But I voted for Ben because he’s a much more interesting (and complex) character. DC’s speedsters really tend to all blur together in the personality department. Until Bart, and he just stood out by being unbearably annoying.
