Laaaaaame. I’m not surprised about Superman (disappointed) but I’m not a fan of Flash at all.

The Thing can beat Barry Allen, but he can’t beat Wally West? Is The Thing so stupid as not to learn from fighting (and beating) one Flash that he can’t beat another? I don’t know if I should be disappointed in The Thing or Barry Allen for not being able to do what Wally West can.

Wally West is the best legacy hero in publishing history bar none.
Perhaps not the most successful hero but the most successful transition to the big leagues and exploration of what that type of hero is.

The Thing’s just really cool.
(Braces for rebuffs)

I would argue that cases like Starman, Iron Fist, etc., great as they are, don’t really apply because they started with the legacy character.

It depresses me so much that Barry’s back and Wally’s gonna get sidelined.

Booooooooo!

There is just no way Flash is as cool as Thing.

Oh well.

“Wally West is the best legacy hero in publishing history bar none.”

Although Bucky Barnes is moving up the list very quickly.

I voted Superman and Thing. Surprised that the thing lost, and by quit a margin too.

The Flash wins. I’m not surprised. Wally’s ALWAYS been a solid read.

Whatta revoltin’ development!

Flash beats Thing? Wotta revoltin’ development.

Wally west is the one, and only true Flash.

The best man-as-a-monster character EVER loses to Kid Flash.

The Yancy Street Gang will have a field day with this one.

I’ll take Wally over Superman, every time!

Wally’s another “disproportionately popular” character… but then again, the last one of those I pointed out was Nightwing, and look what happened there. But he’s always been a dark horse (npi) to take this entire thing, although Batman still looks to be rolling through this tournament like UCLA in the Kareem era.

But the thing with me is that I can remember dozens of really good – great Wally stories, and while I love the Thing as a character, I think I like him more as part of the team than an individual character. Wally’s good in both roles, which is what makes him so unique (although two others in this bracket, Nightwing and Iron Man, would also seem to fit the bill).

I think Wally pulls off the upset.

I did enjoy The Thing series by Dan Slott, but that tanked because about three of us bought it…

I voted Wally. He is the Epitome of the Speed Force…

I agree with Stephen, Ben works better in a team book. Wally works well by himself AND in a team book (includng Justice League Elite!)

LOVE.
THE.
FLASH.

There should be an extra round of Wally vs Barry just to see how wrong/right DC editorial is…
