A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments – Day 86
Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!
Today we look at a neat moment from Roger Stern and John Byrne’s Captain America run.
Enjoy!
Captain America #255 was towards the end of Roger Stern and John Byrne’s excellent (if sadly too brief) run on Captain America.
It was a look at Captain America’s history. It was a really well produced done-in-one story, and it has one of the coolest double page spreads out there, which is today’s cool comic book moment…
What a brilliant collage of events.
This would make for a great poster! Get on that, Marvel!!

The Cap for President issue was great, but the spooky Baron Blood two-parter which introduced the current Union Jack remains my favorite story from this classic run.

When’s Cap coming back from the dead? Isn’ t it about time?

I couldn’t agree more with Lt. Clutch. The Baron Blood story remains my favorite of all time.

This is from my favourite period of Byrne’s work, when everything he touched just seemed to become aesthetically perfect.
