Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!
Today we look at an awesome fight scene involving two unlikely opponents – The Thing and the Mighty Thor!
The basic plot of the Fantastic Four #73 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby is that the Fantastic Four think that Daredevil is really Doctor Doom disguised as Daredevil (since Doom had just done that in the first part of this particular story). Daredevil goes to Spider-Man for help, and Spider-Man in turn enlists the aid of the Mighty Thor (who actually was going through a stretch of time when he was not so mighty, but more mighty than most, at the very least).
This is also just precursor to one amazing full-page splash by King Kirby, which you’re about to see…
Man, even in a fairly filler issue of the Fantastic Four, Kirby brought it like crazy!
